CFB Week 12 Bets

To say we’re on a heater would be putting it lightly. In the last 3 weeks we’ve combined for close to +4 units and we’re 29-25 on the season through Week 11. I’d say it’s crunch time, but that’s next week… so let’s take advantage of the teams who won’t grasp that concept THIS week. Always remember to bet smarter, not harder.

Q’s Best Bets (After Week 11: 12-9 Overall, +3.932 Units Total)

Ohio State @ Maryland/Illinois @ Michigan/Tennessee @ South Carolina
Pick: 3 Team Parlay: Maryland +35.5, Illinois/Michigan Total Points Under 52.5, Tennessee -9.5 (+115) (1 unit)

It was tempting to take a straight up “lookahead parlay” between Ohio State and Michigan’s respective games this week, but I’m opting for something a little safer. Do I think Maryland can hang in this game? No. Doubt. Tua’s younger brother (Taulia Tagovailoa) has been super solid all season with the exception of last week and Ohio State has honestly looked pretty rusty for multiple weeks now. Add to the equation the inevitable lookahead thought process that every undefeated Buckeye will likely have in their heads tomorrow (they play their hated rival Michigan Wolverines next week) and you get a recipe for potential disaster. While I’m not bullish enough to call a Maryland upset by any means, I do think this game should be closer than 5 TDs. Bank on one of the biggest rivalries in football to throw off a national championship favorite on the road this weekend. Score Prediction: Ohio State 38 – Maryland 20.

Same story, flip side of the coin. I contemplated teasing Illinois’ spread for this bet but given how good both of these two defenses are I had to bank on the total. Not only do I think Michigan will look “meh” tomorrow against a stingy Fighting Illini defense (there’s no chance Harbaugh is willing to provide a much better Ohio State team with the looks they should expect to see next week), but I also think Illinois’ offense is so mismatched by Michigan’s D that there’s a great chance neither team puts up numbers on Saturday. Plan for a distracted Michigan squad, expect great defense both ways. Score Prediction: Michigan 27 – Illinois 13.

Same Tennessee team, same story. They lost to Georgia so now Josh Heupel’s job is to embarrass every single team they face from here on out and just pray that the SEC cannibalizes itself. Cue South Carolina… the absolute ideal team to pad your stat numbers with. Expect Hendon Hooker to have a day (land and air) and for the Gamecocks to keep doing Gamecock things at home (losing). Score Prediction: Tennessee 38 – South Carolina 17.

Oklahoma State @ Oklahoma/USC @ UCLA
Pick: Oklahoma State +14.5, UCLA +10.5 (-110) (1 unit)

This parlay is simple. Two potential outright winners being gifted points? Easy money.

UCLA at home in a rivalry game feels like one of the bigger advantageous spots in college football this week. They face a banged up (arch rival) Trojan squad that has flirted with disaster numerous times throughout the season so far already. Both offenses are potent but USC will be missing their starting RB Travis Dye and their star WR Jordan Addison doesn’t sound 100%. USC feels due to drop another one… bank on a Bruins bounce back on Saturday. Score Prediction: UCLA 38 – USC 35.

I love Brent Venables but this Oklahoma team is definitely not the product he’s accustomed to (to be fair he’s dealing with another coach’s recruits this season). Oklahoma State’s offense has been electric this season, neither team plays defense and Spencer Sanders should be the best player on the field this weekend. Take the ranked team in the matchup to keep this one within two TDs in a likely Bedlam shootout. Score Prediction: Oklahoma 31 – Oklahoma State 27.

DPJ’s Best Bets (After Week 11: 17-16 Overall, -0.52 Units Total)

TCU @ Baylor – Saturday, 11/19 (12:00 PM EST)
Pick: TCU -2.5 (-110) (1 unit)

Oregon State @ Arizona State/Kansas State @ West Virginia/Illinois @ Michigan
Pick: 3 Team Parlay: Oregon State Moneyline, Kansas State Moneyline, Michigan Moneyline (+105) (1 unit)
