It was a bye week bonanza across the league last week with 6 teams on bye. Not only did it make for a crappy slate of NFL games but Q was unable to field a full roster in our 1 vs 1 league, essentially deciding to take an L instead of dropping some of his starting players. It remains to be seen if this move will pay off for him. For now, Jake is up 4-3 and riding a 3 game win streak and not showing any signs of slowing down.
Waiver Wire Advice:
ADD
Randall Cobb – Picking a Packers WR not named Davante Adams to start each week this year has been like a game of whac-a-mole. That game has become much easier for Thursday’s matchup with Arizona as Davante Adams and Allen Lazard have both tested positive for COVID. Cobb is now a must add and a great pick to cover byes or injuries in week 8. In a short week it is unlikely Adams or Lazard will be back so this should boost the stock of Cobb, Jones, Tonyan and co. as someone needs to catch those Rodgers passes.
DROP
Sam Darnold – A fantasy darling through 4 weeks, Sam seemed like he could do no wrong and was poised to be a top 10 fantasy QB by year end. Fast forward and he has now combined for 28 points over the last 3 weeks. There is no doubt that losing CMC has tanked his game but he looks lost out there and a benching in week 7 should be the nail in the coffin. If you are still holding on to Sam (hopefully not starting him) I would look for a different QB on the upward trend like Carson Wentz who’s averaging almost 20 points over his last four starts.
HOLD
Allen Robinson – While I’m becoming increasingly bearish on anyone catching balls from Justin Fields in Matt Nagy’s dog shit offense, Allen Robinson still intrigues me. I don’t at all expect him to pop on the Bears but with Chicago moving quickly towards a lost season they may look to trade Allen Robinson before next Tuesday’s trade deadline (Nov 2). I can’t see why Robinson would sign with the Bears after this season as he’s set to become a free agent in the spring. Chicago should do the smart thing and trade him to recoup any sort of value. My eyes are on teams like the Saints or Colts who could use additional WR help heading into a playoff push. That could boost Robinson’s value tremendously. If he’s not traded by November 2nd I will absolutely be dropping his ass.
