Clash of the Titans – Week 9 Results and Waiver Wire Advice

If you’re reading this you are probably wondering if I should just start copy/pasting the same intro each week to this article. Yes, I know it’s getting a bit repetitive, but we must play the (seemingly inferior) competition laid out in front of us. My team is in full-blown runaway train mode after our fourth straight win, widening the gap to 6-3 on the season. The regular season trophy is quickly slipping away from Q…and this is all being done with injuries and covid positives to many of my top players. I survived the CMC injury, and now I plan to weather the Derrick Henry injury. Davante Adams has missed a game due to COVID, Calvin Ridley is useless…but the show moves on. The clock is ticking for Q to turn his season around, there is still a lot of time left, but he’s gotta be feeling the heat. Weekly Add/Drop/Hold below. Enjoy.

Waiver Wire Advice:

ADD

Rashod Bateman – There’s a decent chance if you’re in deeper leagues, say 12+ teams, that Bateman is not available. But if he’s there I think he’s absolutely worth an add. Ravens fans have been begging for another weapon for Lamar for a couple seasons now, and it appears they have one for the future in Rashod Bateman. Bateman is averaging almost 7 targets a game in the three games he’s played and the Ravens play a bunch of soft defenses in the next 5 weeks. Definitely worth a look and we’re still waiting on his first huge Sunday which will probably come soon.

DROP

Kadarius Toney – If you’re still on the Kadarius Toney wagon, I think it’s time to hop off. It’s hard enough to be productive in a Jason Garret x Daniel Jones offense but even less so when you are always banged up. Toney has been a huge let down after his 24 point performance at Dallas in week 5. With a bye this week and a few tough matchups coming off the bye, it will be difficult to start him for several weeks. As fun as those couple weeks to watch him we’re I would shuffle him off the roster for someone with more short term upside.

HOLD

Carson Wentz – If you’ve been smart enough to play Wentz over the past 6 weeks you have been rewarded. He’s been incredibly steady, averaging 20 points a week with a low of 17 and a high of 24. I think you can ride Wentz one more week vs Jacksonville before dumping him to the wolves for a week 11 matchup with Buffalo. The Jags have been the 12th most favorable team vs. QBs this year and they should be prime for a torching after getting a win last week vs. the Bills. Big let down spot for the Jags on Sunday, Carson should roll.
