Samford @ Kansas – Thursday 3/21 (9:55 PM EST)
Pick : Kansas -7 (-110) (1 Unit)
With Kevin McCullar announced out for Kansas, many rushed to get bets down on Samford. This knocked the line down to 7 which is great value on the favorite. Kansas gets Hunter Dickinson back to help the front court, and provide much needed scoring. While Samford is talented and they play a unique fast paced style, press on defense, and shoot a high percentage of 3s. Kansas point guard, Dajuan Harris has 3 years starting experience in the B12 and an Assist rate that ranks top 100 nationally. He should have no problem beating this press, which is the main concern for the Jayhawks. Samford will be a trendy upset,, but beware as Kansas still has experience, and arguably the best coach in the tournament.
Nevada @ Dayton – Thursday 3/21 (4:30 PM EST)
Pick: Nevada ML (-115) (1 Unit)
Nevada enters the tournament after an impressive regular season 2nd place in the Mountain West, winning 7 in a row to finish the regular season. They bring tournament experience from last years team, led by guards Kenan Blackshear and Jarod Lucas. On the flip side, Dayton comes into the game just 2-2 in March. They are led by All-American, Daron Holmes who will be a lot for Nevada to handle. With Nevada’s zone, ability to switch defenses, and front court depth they will be able to neutralize and come away with a somewhat closely contest game.
